Live workspace

Code, chat, and preview in one place.

The workspace is built for repeated product work, not disposable demos. Every generated file stays inspectable, every change is visible, and every follow-up can target the exact part of the app you care about.

01 · EDITOR

Generated code, ready to edit.

Every file BYOB writes stays visible and editable. Follow-ups target the exact lines you care about instead of regenerating from scratch.

Prompt to app

From first prompt to a workspace you can ship.

Start conversationally, approve the shape, let Tool Mode implement, then refine and deploy from the same workspace.

  1. 01 Describe the product Start with the outcome, audience, and any constraints. BYOB turns the idea into a practical build plan.
  2. 02 Shape the UX Review the proposed flows, screens, data needs, and visual direction before code starts moving.
  3. 03 Generate the app Tool Mode writes SvelteKit code, connects integrations, and keeps each change visible in preview.
  4. 04 Test and refine Ask for edits, roll back when needed, run checks, and keep the project editable instead of disposable.
  5. 05 Deploy Ship the finished app, connect domains, and keep iterating from the same workspace.

Agent and backend

Code with your agent, ship with a real backend.

Connect Codex, Claude Code, or Antigravity to your project, then store data and ship to production without leaving the workspace.

Built for shipping

The parts that usually slow you down are already here.

BYOB handles product planning, implementation, preview, testing, database work, and deployment from one focused interface, with coding-agent access and production analytics when you want to keep working from your own terminal.

This part is hands-on. The cards drift until you touch them. Drag to rearrange, or press and hold one to feel it push back.

Agent integrations

Give Codex, Claude Code, or Antigravity scoped access through BYOB CLI or Agent MCP. Your agent reads context, edits code, tests previews, and deploys from your terminal.

Git history and diffs

Every change lands as a commit. Inspect history, compare diffs, and see exactly what changed since the last deploy.

Inbox in every project

Every project ships with an inbox. Collect messages, leads, and feedback from your app without wiring a third party.

Email sending built in

Send magic links, OTP codes, and transactional mail from your own sender address. Resend-backed, no SMTP setup.

Google and magic-link login

Offer Continue with Google plus passwordless email codes. Sessions and callbacks are handled.

Custom domains and SSL

Point your domain at BYOB with guided DNS checks. Certificates are automatic.

Visual editing

Click any element in the live preview and describe the change. Copy, spacing, color, behavior.

AI testing agent

Run full-site or feature checks and get implementation-level feedback you can apply in one step.

Version rollback

Step between saved states or redeploy a known commit when an experiment goes sideways.

One-click deploy

Builds publish to production hosting in one step. Deploys can auto-save the project state first.

Deployment analytics

Worker traffic, errors, CPU timing, subrequests, and custom-domain status from the workspace.

Supabase aware

Connect Supabase and BYOB reads schemas, drafts migrations, and generates types that match your app.

Team collaboration

Invite people in and keep sessions coordinated so work never overwrites work.

WordPress is an open-source CMS you can self-host or run on WordPress.com, extended through thousands of themes and plugins. BYOB generates a website or application with editable code, data options and managed publishing. WordPress suits content-heavy sites and existing editorial teams; BYOB suits custom products without plugin maintenance.

Where WordPress still leads

WordPress earned its position. It handles posts, pages, categories, media and editorial workflows out of the box, and its plugin ecosystem covers almost any requirement, from SEO to memberships. Hosting is available fastly and widely, and because the software is open source you can self-host and inspect every file. For a content-driven publication or a team already fluent in the WordPress admin, that maturity is a genuine advantage worth weighing carefully.

Themes and plugins versus generated components

The difference is architectural. A WordPress site is a PHP application assembled from a theme and a set of plugins, each with its own update cycle and compatibility requirements. BYOB generates components and routes as part of one project, with styling written directly rather than layered through a theme. You get fewer moving parts and no third-party plugin code in the critical path, at the cost of the pre-built features and admin experience WordPress provides.

Maintenance and security surface

Running a CMS means maintaining it. Core, theme and plugin updates arrive regularly, and a single neglected plugin can become a security liability. Backups, staging and malware scanning are common needs. A generated project has a smaller attack surface: there is no public admin login by default and no plugin gallery to patch. You still update dependencies, but the routine is lighter and the failure modes are fewer, which matters for anyone without a dedicated technical team.

When content tools matter most

If the core job is publishing, WordPress often remains the better answer. Its editor, scheduling, categories and plugin integrations are built for writers and marketers. Recreating a mature editorial workflow in custom code is rarely worth it. Choose WordPress when content volume and team habits are the centre of gravity, and choose BYOB when the site is really a product, such as a store, portal, booking tool or dashboard, where content is secondary to behaviour.

Moving a site and choosing a direction

Migration is possible in either direction but never trivial. Moving from WordPress means recreating pages and posts in a new structure and keeping your domain pointed correctly throughout. Many people run the new project alongside the old site, then switch DNS when they are satisfied. Neither platform is a one-way door, but the effort involved is a reason to pick based on where the project is heading, not just what exists today.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is BYOB a WordPress alternative?

For content-led blogs, WordPress remains strong. BYOB is a better fit for storefronts, portals and applications where you want editable code without managing plugins.

Will I miss WordPress plugins on BYOB?

Some capabilities are built in or generated directly, such as data stores and login. Specialised plugins may need equivalent integrations instead.

Which is more secure, WordPress or BYOB?

A generated project has a smaller attack surface because there is no plugin ecosystem and no public admin by default. WordPress security depends heavily on update discipline.

Can I move my WordPress content to BYOB?

You can recreate pages and posts by importing or describing your content. BYOB generates new pages rather than importing WordPress themes directly.
